It’s official: Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta, is a nominee for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for January. This marks the fourth time Arteta has been shortlisted for the monthly prize this season, and he’s gunning for his third victory after previously taking home the honors in August and November/December.

In a challenging month that saw the Arsenal boss go head-to-head with three teams vying for a spot in the top four, the team remained unbeaten. Arteta led the squad to a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United and a historic 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby. The squad then sealed a 3-2 success over Manchester United, restoring our five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Arteta is up against stiff competition, including Nottingham Forest’s Steve Cooper, who guided his team to rise from 19th to 13th after claiming eight points from four games. Roberto De Zerbi, who led Brighton & Hove Albion to net nine goals in three matches, is also in the running. Unai Emery, who picked up the most points in the month after guiding Aston Villa to 10 from a possible 12, and Brentford’s Thomas Frank, whose team went unbeaten in their three matches, are also in the running.

But let’s be real, Arteta has proven time and time again that he’s a force to be reckoned with, and he’s got the drive and determination to bring home the win. He’s led this team to greatness, and he’s not about to stop now. The competition is better watch out, because Arteta and his team are coming for that trophy.
