Lai Mohammed Rate Nigeria As The Safest Country To Live In The World

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, has described Nigeria as the safest and freest country to live in the world.
The Minister affirmed this when he was welcoming Dr. Jyrki Pulkkimen, the Finland Ambassador to Nigeria, and his crew, who were on a courtesy visit in his office on Monday.
Lai Mohammed similarly said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government had not tampered with the right of speech or freedoms of individuals.
The Minister said the government was only sanitizing the media on hate speech, false news, and misuse of the freedom of speech.

He said this was not an attempt to snip the media. He maintained that social media regulation was only to sanitized and not deny the rights of individuals.
He said whatever is tolerated on the streets would be accepted online.
According to him, the government, through the Ministry of Information, had begun the fight against hate speech since 2017.
The Minister pointed out that if people were allowed to do whatever they want on social media in a country like ours with the diversity of religion and political interests, there would be chaos.
He said the government would not lack in its quest to bring sanity to social media.
