The reappointed Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed is gradually being drawn into troubled wasters and this is coming from the Kwara South Elders Forum of the All Progressive Congress, APC, who have opposed his reappointment as Minister for the state’s slot.
The Kwara South Elders Forum of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has accused Lai Mohammed of performing far below expectation in the interest of the state while serving as minister, for this reason, the forum have called for a change in the nomination of the minister from Kwara South.
Recall that during a recent press conference anchored by Dr Hezekiah Oyedepo, the Irepodun LGA APC Consultative forum, passed a vote of confidence on the Minister.
The Kwara South Elders Forum of the All Progressive Congress, APC, dissociated itself from the resolutions arrived at during the press conference and the subsequent release issued by the APC Consultative Forum of Irepodun Local Government Area. After an emergency meeting that was held in Ilorin at the residence of Chief Ayeni, a resolution contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Chief J.B Ayeni and the Secretary, Engineer Jide US man, was released, the statement read in part.
“We wish to note that Kwara South is made up of seven local government areas and it is obviously larger than Irepodun LGA which constitutes less than 10% of the Senatorial district.
“The LGAs are Ifelodun, Oyun, Offa, Isin, Oke-ero, Ekiti and Irepodun,” the statement read.
The forum also debunked the claim by the consultative forum that the Minister was responsible for the party’s victory in Kwara State during the 2019 elections.
